Harris is a budding actor…
A week before training camp, Harris spent a day in Los Angeles taping an episode of the CBS-TV crime drama “Criminal Minds.” He plays a father who checks into a hotel with his children.
The show’s executive producer, Ed Bernero, is a Chicago native and former Chicago police officer who’s an avid Bears fan.
“I wouldn’t want to do [acting] for a career, but it was fun being able to go behind the scenes and meet all the different people,” Harris said. “They gave me a trailer and everything. They went all out and we had a good time.”
A year ago, Harris played himself in an episode of the CW show “The Game.” Asked to identify his dream role as an actor, the Bears defensive tackle said: “I want to play a superhero.”
Come to think of it, that’s pretty close to what he does on Sunday afternoons during the football season.
